HMRC Exchange Rate Calculator

HMRC publishes official monthly exchange rates for converting foreign currency into Pound Sterling (GBP). You'll need these for a number of UK tax purposes: Self Assessment returns, foreign employment income, dividends, rental income, capital gains, VAT on foreign invoices, Inheritance Tax valuations and foreign currency entries in company accounts.

This tool applies the HMRC Monthly Exchange Rates for the month a payment was received and works out the GBP equivalent for you.

If tax was deducted at source in the foreign country, enter the gross amount before any deduction, and record the withheld tax separately.
